I like them. Well, being art, I like some of them. But, I like art.
My sister Ellie is this incredibly amazing person. She is younger than me than I would like to admit but there is nothing that I would not do for that girl. We both are coffee addicts. Black coffee. We both live our lives sugar free. She can make me laugh and life with her is just fun.
Ellie was at my house. We were talking about everything in this world, like we do, and the conversation fell on tattoos. We were talking and talking and Madison, my eight year old daughter, grew bored of our chatter and pulled out a coloring book and some crayons.
Ellie was thinking out loud. “I found this verse I want tattooed on me. Should I get the whole verse or just the reference? Should I get a cross also or another picture?….”
Madison lifted her head from her drawing and put in her completely serious opinion, “I just want a cross tattoo….pause…and a piggy face.” And she returned to her coloring.
I LOVE THAT GIRL!
And that is how I want to live life! Like a child who loves Jesus and has fun!
Amen! LOL, I think that I how Jesus wants us to live our lives, too! π

I have one wish I didn’t lol because now I have to explain to the boys at church camp why a tattoo of a devil with a machine gun under a parachute was really a bad idea.

I just want to know the story on why you have that to begin with… sounds like a really really good story!

Good thing God understands all the crazy stuff we can get ourselves into. But as long as we learn and grow nothing is ever truly a mistake. π

Made it through all my military life without tattoos, knew plenty who got them , but I figured I got enough scars to remind me of things I’ve done. I let them be my talking points and conversation pieces. Like tattoos they are in prominent places. Body art is interesting I served alongside Fijians, who tattoo their whole bodies, Immense respect for them, but it is not for me.

I have 2 tattoos and will probably get at least 1 more. Mine are Christian in nature and hold deep meaning for me. I love them! Great post!!

I’ve got three, and have been asked a couple of times as a pastor my thoughts. 1) don’t get one on a whim (or drunk), 2) put some thought into it – ie make it symbolic, and 3) don’t put it anywhere you can’t cover up if needed (shame to not be considered by an employer because you’ve got a spiderweb on your neck).

I guess you could say I like tattoos, as I have nine of them myself, but the last one was more than 30 years ago.

I like them, I think they are a way of expressing yourself. I have a quote across my ribs in memory of my brother, I had it put there so it is close to my heart.

I do not see anything wrong with tattoos Biblically. Tattoos don’t fit with my style and personality, and I would feel socially uncomfortable if I had one. I think there are others who feel the same way, which is why some Christians think Tattoos are immoral. Many spiritual people pay close attention to what they feel inside of them to see if they are getting any signals from their conscience. If something makes them feel socially awkward, this sense of embarrassment is interpreted by their minds as a conviction of sin by their conscience even if there wasn’t anything sinful. I think this is also why some Christians think dancing is immoral.
